We are based at Manor Garden Centre, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, Swindon — and we attract visitors from across Wiltshire and beyond who know that the advice they get here comes from decades of real experience, not a script.

Neil — Owner and Founder

Neil opened Paradise Pets in 1988 and has run it ever since. With over 35 years of hands-on experience keeping, breeding and advising on budgies, cockatiels, canaries, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits and guinea pigs, he is one of the most experienced small animal and bird specialists in Wiltshire.

Everything Neil writes and every piece of advice he gives comes from real experience — thousands of conversations at the counter, thousands of animals bred and sold, and a genuine passion for getting it right for both the animal and the owner.

Sarah — Small Animals Specialist

Sarah has worked with rabbits and guinea pigs for over 40 years, including decades of showing and exhibiting at national level. Her knowledge of guinea pig and rabbit breeds, health, and care is exceptional — and she leads the small animals side of the shop with the same hands-on expertise that defines everything we do at Paradise Pets.

Why We Only Stock UK-Bred Animals

Every animal we sell is born and raised in the United Kingdom by breeders we know personally. We do not import animals from abroad — not because it would be difficult, but because we believe it matters. UK-bred animals are healthier, better socialised, and come with full traceability from birth. When you buy an animal from Paradise Pets, you know exactly where it came from.

Most of our rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and mice are bred on site or by a small number of trusted local breeders we have worked with for years. Our birds come from experienced UK aviculturists whose standards we know and trust.

Paradise Pets is fully licensed by Swindon Borough Council under the Animal Welfare (Licensing) Act 2018.

What We Stock

Small Animals: Syrian and dwarf hamsters, Mongolian gerbils, fancy mice, rabbits (Netherland Dwarfs, Mini Lops, Dwarf Lops, Mini Rex, Dutch), guinea pigs (Teddies, Rex, Alpacas, Peruvians, Crested, Self and more), and tortoises.

Cage and Aviary Birds: Budgerigars, cockatiels, canaries, zebra finches, and a range of other cage and aviary birds depending on availability. We also stock parrots and parrot species when available from trusted breeders.
